Our Practice
Many years ago as my interest in TMJ and associated dysfunctions grew, I became increasingly aware that unlike other major cities, Las Vegas did not have any facility for state of the art diagnosis and treatment of these problems. Many patients in my own practice were suffering from TMJ problems and were unable to find permanent relief through successful treatment. Car accident victims with head and neck injuries were still suffering from residual TMJ complaints; many of these victims had chronic head, neck and facial pain, months and in some cases, years after the trauma episode.
Consequently, I refocused my continuing education studies on TMJ and associated problems. I noted the essential diagnostic protocols commonly used in other states, but unavailable in any one facility in our State of Nevada.
After years of effort, I completed the addition of a tomographic unit and state of the art bioinstrumentation to objectively document these injuries. I arranged for my staff to be fully trained by nationally acclaimed experts in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck injuries and TMJ Dysfunctions. Today our TMJ team is successfully diagnosing and treating these unfortunate trauma victims.
Today I am going to focus on common symptoms of TMJ Dysfunction. If you are suffering from two or more of the following complaints you probably should be examined to rule out a TMJ problem.
Common complaints are: limited jaw opening, grinding or clenching of teeth, unresolved chronic head pain, unexplained recurrent sinus pain, facial muscle fatigue or pain, ear pain or congestion, ringing or other ear noises, clicking, popping or other jaw joint noises, pain in front of the ears, unresolved neck, shoulder or back pain, dizziness unexplained loss of bone supporting teeth, teeth not meeting properly when jaws are closed, unexplained problems with swallowing, unresolved tooth sensitivity, pain and/or pressure behind the eyes, pain when chewing and tiredness or fatigue even after seven or eight hours of sleep.
Our TMJ TEAM is only a phone call away; we will provide further information and if necessary, state of the art diagnosis and treatment for your TMJ problems.
