Of all the dental services we provide at our treatment facility, the most pleasure for all is when we create A Beautiful Smile through orthodontic treatment (repositioning teeth). Whether the orthodontic treatment is provided for an adult or a child, this pleasurable experience is rewarded with positive changes in both appearance and function which last a lifetime!
Dramatic changes in orthodontic treatment in recent years now allow for many cases to be treated in eighteen months, and sometimes in less time, without removing any of the patient’s natural teeth. Consequently, we are creating broader smiles with all of the patient’s natural teeth with stable results. Retention is now a matter of months instead of years. These new treatment plans are not as inconvenient and cumbersome as in the past and, more importantly, are pain-free.
Dr. Escoto has received extensive training from orthodontists considered to be on the leading edge of orthodontics in this country. He has completed many months of such training integrating extensive instruction in TMD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) with orthodontic diagnostics and treatment. Subsequently, orthodontic treatment plans are designed to protect optimal function of the temporomandibular joints (the jaw joints); this was not the case in older (and now obsolete) orthodontic treatment planning.
Utilizing functional orthopedic mechanics with miniature bonded orthodontic brackets allows for only two or three ounces of force instead of the twenty or thirty pounds of force required to reposition teeth with older, outdated techniques. Our patients respond enthusiastically to this pain-free environment during these much shorter treatment times!
